Did you know that I wrote my 10th board exams (March) when I was 13 years old? I turned 14 in May. But still! So basically my classmates were mostly 2 years older to me throughout. Yes, I'm bragging. Actually, I've been bragging about it since last evening when a friend said "I wrote my 12th boards when I was 16! That was young!" I went all "dude! I was 15!" And conveniently skipped the part where I turned 16 in 2 months time just to zap her! And talking of silencing people, the other day when I was trying this lipstick at home, walking around barefoot, lazing, drawing and taking and making phone calls wearing my very tiny, very old baby loony tunes pjs and a t shirt longer than the shorts and a brown lipstick, my mum looked at me strange, and shocked, like she dint know what to say (for exactly 5 minutes, after which she obviously walked back into the room, made a joke and laughed at it herself, all pleased with herself. [But that's not what we're discussing!])
We're talking about this very brown, edible matte looking lipstick that no one ever expected me to wear (Including myself, btw)
You know, I've always wanted to try out a matte brown lipstick, just to see how it looks on me, only because it was such a trend back in the 90s, and obviously, being in school and all that, I wasn't allowed to try it then! So. There. I. Said. It.Colour It looks closest to the first picture, and the first swatch below. It's a nice muddy brown that has some mauve undertone. When when swiped more than twice, it tends to look grey-ish.
Packaging So the nice stubby bottom of these lipsticks are the exact colour of the lipstick. That would help if you have more than 1 lipstick from this collection.
Fragrance Not a typical lipstick fragrance, this has a sweet, syrupy fragrance, like that of cherries probably. Not something that bothers me quite honestly.
On me, this lipstick lasted a well over 5 hours before it started to fade slightly and get extremely drying so I had to get it off and reapply (Layering this on top wouldn't help with the dryness, which is my main issue). If not for the drying bit, I'm sure it would last a couple of hours more, easily.

Other than that, it's quite drying for my already chapped, and dehydrated lips. the longer it wears, the drier it gets, so I prefer removing it completely, using some lipbalm and reapplying, instead of reapplying directly.
It's definitely not a moisturizing lipstick. It's not supposed to be, neither does it claim to be one, so even if you are blessed with lips that aren't chapped/ dry, you will need a layer of lipbalm before wearing this lipstick comfortably.
Once settled, it's transfer resistant, but that being said, it's not transfer proof. So it does transfer on to cups and glasses and all that your lips might touch.
All in all, it's a long-wearing formula and has quite a few interesting shades to choose from. It's quite nice if you don't have very dry lips and/or you can deal with dry lips.
I actually applied it on top of the (decently moisturising) Maybelline cranberry cocktail Lipgloss to make it warmer, so the colour wouldn't clash with my mauve hating skintone, and it gave me a really long lasting (around 3- 3.5 hours) liquid lipstick (?) wear.
I think I might get this in Eternal rose or any other pink and/or the Coral from this range. Those seem gorgeous in swatches online! Let's see!
